From an early age, entrepreneurship was part of my everyday life, shaping my understanding of persistence, adaptability, and planning through my parents' ventures, while my mother, a merchandising professor, encouraged me to think creatively, search for patterns, and approach problems with curiosity. This balance of…
discipline and imagination inspired me to pursue Mechatronics for my undergraduate degree, a programme that combined structure with innovation; courses such as Product Design and Development, Internet of Things, and Computer Networking strengthened my analytical mindset, gave me a foundation in digital systems, and taught me to weigh both feasibility and creativity when developing solutions. Beyond academics, I sought leadership roles and cultural experiences. As head of arts and culture for my university's inter-university festival, I managed 20+ volunteers, coordinated five competitions, and engaged with over 50 colleges, strengthening my organisational skills and my confidence handling high-pressure responsibilities. My professional experiences have been equally diverse. At Company A (a digital and CGI studio), I worked on campaigns for major automotive brands, transforming complex CGI workflows into compelling consumer narratives. Internships at Company B (an electronics manufacturer) and Company C (an auto-components manufacturer) gave me hands-on exposure to production, automation, and problem-solving at scale, and later, with Startup A (a sustainability-focused startup), I built the brand identity, designed campaigns, and helped attract early customers. Together, these gave me technical and creative exposure and the ability to adapt across sectors. While I could manage projects, lead initiatives, and optimise processes, I realised these skills alone were insufficient for my ultimate goal: establishing a specialised consulting firm that guides SaaS and emerging-technology companies through product strategy, market expansion, and customer engagement, which requires structured managerial training. An MiM will let me bridge my technical expertise with the business acumen I need to launch and sustainably grow my venture. To build toward this, I first aim to gain practical experience in product marketing at a leading SaaS company in Singapore, such as Salesforce, HubSpot, or Freshworks, developing and executing go-to-market strategies that drive global adoption. NUS's MiM closely matches both my short- and long-term aspirations. Its East-meets-West pedagogy will prepare me to navigate global markets with cultural agility, while Singapore's position as a technology hub offers exposure to the SaaS ecosystem. Courses such as Design Thinking and Business Innovation will strengthen my problem-solving, and faculty guidance will refine my ability to craft customer-focused strategies. I'll also engage with The Master's Club to bridge technical and business perspectives and lead hands-on workshops on product storytelling. NUS provides the perfect platform to deepen my strengths and build critical management expertise as I grow into a professional who can drive innovation and meaningful impact across industries.
